What is unique about Grandpa's Cellar?
A park-like setting is unique. Over an acre of lawn under the apple trees makes for a unique experience for the visitors.
Tours are unique to Grandpa's Cellar. We offer tours for all ages, preschoolers to Red Hat Ladies to a bus of retirees.
Each comprehensive educational tour is designed to inform based on the interest and age of the group. Pat Scheuner, one of
the owners, has a Lifetime California Teacher's Credential and is committed to providing a learning experience. Son, Bill
has a Horticulture degree and Dad Bill retired from a forestry career. The tours are by appointment and suitable for all ages.
The tours are educational, as we want people to know where their food comes from, how it is grown, work of the orchard, tools, etc.
Grandpa's Cellar is a proud member of Slow Food USA; an organization dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of
traditional and artisanal foods and the advocacy of sustainability. We feel that our "from scratch" specialty bakery and
the sale of fresh picked, tree-ripened Apple Hill apples during the harvest season is helping to encourage the preservation
of local and seasonal foods.
For 30 years the owners have introduced a new item each year. Our motto is, "There is always something new at Grandpa's
Cellar!"
Hand rolled, hand fluted, hand crafted variety of apple pies are our specialty. 17 different varieties of apple pie are
featured plus other old timed favorites like dumplings, crisp and strudel.
The Country Store at Grandpa's Cellar is also unique. Grandpa's Cellar products are all made on the premises. There
are 4 different types of Apple Butter made the slow old-fashioned way. People are invited to "create their own" gift
boxes and baskets. Shipping service is available.
